All Academies offer individual and group leadership training courses, events and seminars though partnerships with various entitities, as well as New Covenant Presbytery, it's committees and local congregations; and encourage active support of other educational institutions, students and their judicatories. These courses are designed to aid participants to apply formal and informal knowledge in the real work and practice of doing day to day ministry.

  • Lay Academy -- This Academy provides courses and 3 structured programs:
    • Individual Enrichment Courses open to or created for any interested person, group, class, educator, pastor.
    • Commissioned Lay Pastor Program- Structured 2 year Program to educate and equip ruling elders to prepare to become Commissioned Lay Pastors for New Covenant Presbytery.  This program includes an on-going Post-Graduate program.
    • Campus Ministry Program – Begins January 2007
    • TIPS Certified Lay Person Program - Structured 1 year Program to educate and equip educators, lay persons desiring  learning opportunities which support their service in ministry. This is for those not interested in pursuing the status of Commissioned Lay Pastor.
  • Multi-Cultural Academy -- This Academy promotes and provides educational opportunities for multi and cross-cultural sharing, communication, and working together in mission.
  • Pastor Academy -- This Academy equips our pastors in the art of applying their educational and experiential backgrounds to the real settings and situations of ministry in our congregations and related entities.  It designs and offers interactive learning opportunities that are tailored to meet identified needs of pastors.
  • Research, Grants , Publication and Technology Academy -- This Academy publishes, developes and produces resources that equip leaders in ministry. This Academy maintains the TIPS web page, offers distance learning opportunities and provides IT Technology solutions. This Academy consults with our Presbytery committees and not-for-profit organizations to help them:
    • find resources,
    • design and implement relevant research,
    • create an organizational atmosphere that enables productive research, and
    • clarify what is needed and how to go about writing grants.
